Vale is a leading global mining company seeking a highly skilled Senior Geologist to join our Geology Team in Thompson, Manitoba. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing geological support for our Mining Operations division, ensuring the safe and efficient extraction of mineral resources.

About the Role

As a Senior Geologist, you will be responsible for:

1. Providing geological input and support to the Life of Mine Planning (LoMP) process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Vale's standards.
2. Liaising with the in-mine exploration group to identify exploration targets and provide geological input for resource estimation and evaluation.
3. Reviewing and compiling geological data to create, update, and document geological models, assess risks, and look for opportunities.
4. Supporting Scoping, Pre-Feasibility, and Feasibility studies for various ore bodies and projects in Manitoba Operations and occasionally across North Atlantic.
5. Mentoring and training geologists-in-training and providing development opportunities for more inexperienced geoscientists.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. 5-10 years of relevant experience in mining and resource estimation and evaluation.
2. Advanced understanding and proficiency with geostatistical software packages (DatamineR StudioRM, Vulcan) to process, visualize, and interpret 3D geological data.
3. Knowledge of Mining, Milling, and Refining Processes.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
