Your Role:
Radio Canada International is seeking a dynamic and innovative Junior Production Coordinator to provide essential support for our production teams.

Based in a collaborative environment, you will be responsible for researching, gathering, writing, and presenting program material and content for various media productions.

You will engage in the production, direction, and/or post-production of programs and segments, with guidance from experienced producers while also exercising your initiative and independent judgment.

Your work will adhere to the journalistic and program policies, standards, and practices of Radio Canada International, and you may have opportunities to coordinate the efforts of others, necessitating close collaboration with the production unit.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute creative ideas for program content and assist in defining program objectives.
  • Support the development of program content, including writing, researching, and editing.
  • Prepare scripts, ensuring compliance with the program's style and format.
  • Coordinate technical and production resources required for the program.
  • Gather material in the field for broadcast or publication.
  • Organize guest appearances and develop background materials, ensuring hosts are well-briefed.
  • Maintain contact files and assist in evaluating all aspects of production.
  • Perform tasks such as selecting music and sound effects, producing program elements, and directing live or pre-recorded programs.
  • Edit and mix audio and visual elements, write continuity texts, and prepare announcements for various platforms.
  • Assemble and index sound and digital images for online platforms.
  • Foster communication with audience members in a manner suitable to the program's style.
  • Assist with administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the newsroom and production unit.

Qualifications:
  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in journalism, broadcasting, or digital services.
  • Strong understanding of regional issues and the communities served.
  • Experience in booking guests and preparing focused introductions.
  • Demonstrated writing skills and creative thinking in news production.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Problem-solving skills and openness to new ideas.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
  • Understanding of the production workflow and ability to build relationships across teams.
