We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team at CB Canada. As a Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services to our clients and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments for substance use, problem gambling, and other related areas to guide treatment planning.
- Provide individual counseling to support clients' addiction and mental health recovery.
- Develop and present psycho-educational sessions to clients in individual or large group formats.
- Liaise with referral sources and other relevant organizations regarding clients' progress.
- Support clients' discharge planning through referral to appropriate community resources.
- Assist clients in coordinating outpatient counseling and/or follow-up.
- Offer family education and counseling.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a recognized Social Sciences program with addiction-specific education.
- Membership with a College, either with CRPO or another regulated College.
- Certification in Addiction Counseling (ICADC) preferred or willingness to commit to credentialing process.
- Membership with the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF) in pursuit of relevant credential.
- Valid registration with the relevant college/governing body in Ontario or in pursuit of relevant credential.
- Experience in group and individual counseling and skills in presenting to large groups.
- Experience working directly with youth in both traditional and non-traditional settings.
- Experience working with families and providing family counseling.
- Experience working with gambling and/or gaming technology an asset.
- Experience coordinating client care with other service providers.
- Demonstrated experience in chemical dependence, gambling, and concurrent psychiatric disorders.
- Experience in mood disorders an asset.
- Ability to work independently as well as ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to own vehicle and ability/willingness to travel within Central and North Wellington Townships.
- Knowledge of addictions along a continuum of care.
- Engaging, collaborative, and creative, astute to clients' needs with the ability to adapt and be flexible.
- Demonstrated commitment to CB Canada's Values (Service Excellence, Innovation, Collaboration, and Integrity).
- Commitment to working within CB Canada's Health and Safety Standards.
