About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Optical Engines team at ADTRAN. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the design and introduction to manufacturing for high-speed, highly integrated assemblies for the optical communications market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for optical communications products using CAD software, preferably CREO and Solidworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met and manufacturing processes are optimized.
  • Perform FEA stress and thermal modeling on electro-optical assemblies to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, assembly manuals, and test procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, CAD software, and FEA analysis.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
