We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Audit and Assurance team in Halifax. Key Responsibilities- Conduct financial statement audits and reviews for a variety of clients, including public and private companies, not-for-profit organizations, and government entities.
- Develop and implement audit plans, including identifying and assessing risks, and designing and executing audit procedures.
- Analyze financial data and prepare audit reports, including identifying and reporting on any material weaknesses or deficiencies in internal controls.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business operations and financial reporting requirements, and provide guidance on financial reporting and compliance matters.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry developments, and apply this knowledge to improve audit quality and efficiency.
- CPA designation or working towards it
- Strong academic record, with a degree in business, commerce, accounting, or finance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple deadlines and priorities
