About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fugitive Emissions Specialist to join our team at Environmental Services Association of Alberta. As a key member of our Emission Management & Services Team, you will be responsible for conducting fugitive emissions assessments and engine testing under various regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Fugitive Emissions Surveys: Conduct surveys using gas-imaging cameras to identify potential emission sources.
  2. Leak Quantification: Quantify leaks using Hi Flow Sampler, Gas Detectors, US EPA Method 21, or other instruments.
  3. Leak Tagging and Documentation: Tag leaking components using North Shore leak tags, record and document leaks using tablets.
  4. Fugitive Emissions Reporting: Assist with fugitive emissions reporting under Directive 060.
  5. Equipment Inventories: Complete equipment inventories of pneumatic controllers, vents, pumps, and gas-fired equipment.
  6. Compressor Vent Testing: Complete compressor vent testing under Directive 060.
  7. Engine and Boiler Emission Testing: Complete engine and boiler emission testing under the MSAPR.
  8. Project Support: Provide assistance to senior staff on various projects.
  9. Project Delivery: Ensure that project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Preference for candidates with a degree or technical diploma in environmental science or a related discipline.
  2. Experience: 1-3 years of experience with upstream and midstream oil and gas operations.
  3. Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of AER Directive 060, MOE PNG036, the BC DPR, and the MSAPR.
  4. Travel and Field Work: Willingness to travel and be in the field for extended periods of time.
  5. Team Player: Ability to work in a multidiscipline environment.
  6. Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Valid Driver's License: Valid drivers license.
  8. Physical Health: Good physical health and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and at heights.
  9. Organizational Skills: Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
