Job Title: Youth and Family Counsellor

Wood's Homes is a leading mental health organization in Calgary, Alberta, dedicated to providing exceptional services to children, youth, and families. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Youth and Family Counsellor to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Youth and Family Counsellor will work with children, youth, and families in a structured setting, providing therapeutic support and guidance to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe and supportive environment, fostering personal and social development, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to children, youth, and families
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with other professionals
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify areas of need and develop strategies for improvement
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, teachers, and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in a related field, such as social work, child and youth care, or psychology
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience working with children, youth, and families in a mental health setting
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Class 5 driver's license and personal vehicle
