At Southbridge Care Homes, we believe that the kitchen is the heart of every community. We are currently seeking a dedicated Nutritional Services Assistant to join our vibrant Food and Nutrition Department. This role is essential in ensuring that our Residents receive nourishing and appetizing meals, prepared and served with care and attention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain safe food handling practices, including appropriate storage and labeling.
- Support culinary staff with basic meal preparation tasks.
- Adhere to food service protocols in compliance with internal and external standards.
- Serve meals in accordance with individual Resident dietary requirements.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid Food Handler's Certificate is required.
- Previous experience in food service, particularly with senior populations, is preferred.
- Exemplary customer service skills are essential.
- Physical capability to lift and move heavy, hot items and to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Proficiency in an additional language is an asset.
- A current Vulnerable Sector Check is necessary, or willingness to obtain one.
