Role Overview:
We are seeking a versatile Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to join our consulting environment, engaging in client-facing projects alongside multi-functional teams.
In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, configuring, and implementing our CI/CD pipelines to enhance our software delivery processes. Collaborating with our technical teams and utilizing your back-end coding expertise, you will develop and maintain container deployment, continuous integration, and monitoring systems using tools such as OpenShift, Grafana, Docker, and Terraform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve process inefficiencies, proposing and leading implementation of solutions.
- Work collaboratively with technical teams to address complex infrastructure, security, or development challenges.
- Stay informed about best practices and disseminate knowledge among technical teams.
- Automate and optimize daily business tasks and processes by exploring, testing, and integrating new tools.
- Provide training and resources to facilitate development in a distributed environment.
- Support the planning and execution of large-scale technical projects from inception to completion.
- Participate in system architecture discussions and planning.
- Ensure adherence to service level objectives through precise infrastructure monitoring.
- Design, develop, and deploy CI/CD pipelines, enhancing existing workflows.
- Integrate code quality, security scanning, and QA tools within pipelines.
- Deploy, maintain, and support cloud environments, including Azure Production and Development.
- Adhere to best practices in cloud architecture, data management, and Agile methodologies.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with DevOps tools and methodologies.
- Expertise in Azure DevOps.
- Experience in establishing Azure services from the ground up.
- Background in cloud data architecture projects.
- Proven ability to promote a DevOps culture and introduce it to new teams.
- Proficiency in back-end coding languages and practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and deployment experience with at least one automation tool (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab, Bamboo).
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Jenkins).
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux, along with strong shell scripting and system programming skills (POSIX Shell, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, RedHat OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
- Experience with systems monitoring, log aggregation, and dashboard solutions (e.g., Elastic, ELK, Splunk, Prometheus).
- Experience in Agile Scrum or Kanban environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and non-technical stakeholders regarding technical possibilities and limitations.
- Consulting experience with external clients is an asset.
