About Black & McDonald's Accounting & Finance Team
Black & McDonald is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Payroll Administrator to join our dynamic Accounting & Finance team in Markham, Ontario. Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Administrator will focus on processing hourly unionized payroll. This includes interpreting wage schedules, burden tables, and conducting monthly union reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with unions to ensure accurate payroll processing in accordance with collective agreements.
- Manage the end-to-end payroll cycle for hourly employees, including new hire onboarding, terminations, and ROE generation using HRDC WebROE.
- Provide timely and accurate responses to payroll inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual returns for provincial requirements such as WSIB/WCB and EHT.
- Generate T4, RL1, and T2200 forms annually.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with various stakeholders.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently when required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel – including vlookup and pivot tables).
- Completed PCP designation with NPI.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within a unionized construction environment.
