Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist II will be a key member of the anesthesia care team at Alberta Health Services, providing technical and clinical expertise under the direction of physicians. The successful candidate will coordinate, monitor, and assess clinical services in the Surgical Suites, Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, and Stollery Children's Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor clinical services in assigned areas
  • Act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating therapy assessment and treatment
  • Develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor patient progress
  • Identify new equipment requirements and establish adequate supply levels
  • Operate, procure, maintain, and quality assure respiratory equipment
  • Participate in interprofessional patient rounds, conferences, and meetings

Required Qualifications:

  • Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education or work experience in Anesthesia Assistance
  • Previous pediatric and intensive care experience

Working Conditions:

The Respiratory Therapist II will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and maintain confidential information is essential.
