Position Summary

As an Optical Automation Engineer, you will report to the Senior Manager of the Photonic Components Assembly Processes team. Your primary responsibility will be to design, configure, and enhance industrial assembly processes and systems from the initial concept to operational readiness, with a strong emphasis on automation and tooling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance production quality and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with design teams to create innovative assembly systems and processes for next-generation photonic component manufacturing.
  • Take full ownership of optical assembly processes and equipment throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
  • Develop and document equipment specifications, performance criteria, and proposals for machinery and equipment integration.
  • Work alongside engineers, suppliers, and contractors to implement automation solutions tailored to the optical sector.
  • Plan and conduct experimental tests in a cleanroom environment to gain practical insights into optical assembly processes and evaluate the adequacy and improvement needs of engineering equipment.
  • Oversee the installation, site acceptance testing (SAT), and operational transfer of equipment at contract manufacturing sites.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess a College or Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, along with a minimum of two years of experience in a related field.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in programming manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
  • Proven ability to manage projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to navigate competing priorities effectively.
