Job Title: Family Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Family Practitioner to join our team at the Vancouver Island Regional Correctional Centre. As a Family Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing primary health care and mental health support to clients in correctional centres.

About the Role:

This is a part-time opportunity that will allow you to build your professional practice portfolio in the area of mental health and addictions. You will work as part of an inter-professional team, with full access to the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to support delivery of comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary health care and mental health support to clients in correctional centres
  • Work as part of an inter-professional team to deliver comprehensive patient care
  • Use the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to support patient care
Requirements:
  • Eligible for provisional or full licensure with CPSBC
  • Certification with the College of Family Physicians, or equivalent, is mandatory
  • Experience in working with patients across a broad spectrum of psychiatric illness, substance use disorders, and personality difficulties
