Chef Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Soban Korean Japanese Cuisine. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as supervising kitchen staff and maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, ensuring efficient and safe food preparation and service.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring accurate ordering and minimizing waste.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas, maintaining a clean and safe environment for food preparation and service.
  • Organize buffets and banquets, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff.
Working Conditions:
  • 30 to 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
