Job Description:
Role Summary:
BearCom is seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Specialist to join our team. As a Senior Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation and support of wireless communications systems, including complex radio systems for public safety and enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create high-level programming codeplugs for P25, Linked CAP+, CAP MAX, and Repeaters
- Install and service complex wireless communications systems, including UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz Systems, Dispatch Consoles, BDA/DAS Systems, Microwave Systems, Wireless Broadband Devices, and CCTV Equipment
- Provide system recommendations and designs that meet customer requirements
- Some regional and/or overnight travel and on-call hours may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional electronics background
- Experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing RF equipment
- Complex understanding of two-way radio theory and RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands
- Familiarity with RF design and engineering
- Proficient operating test equipment, including communications service monitors, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, and multimeters
- IP networking experience
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Valid driver's license
- Drug screenings, motor vehicle record, and background checks part of the hiring process
