Job Summary

As a Counter Sales Associate at EMCO Corporation, you will be the face of our business, providing world-class sales support to our customers. Your primary focus will be to serve our walk-in customers and inbound telephone inquiries, while also supporting our Outside Sales functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and recommend products to customers based on their needs and preferences.
  • Drive sales growth through effective counter merchandising, product promotion, and lead generation for the Outside Account Management team.
  • Enter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Inform the buyer when stock levels are low, ensuring timely replenishment.
  • Process returns and warranty claims, including paperwork in compliance with all procedures.
  • Navigate and resolve customer concerns and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college and/or university degree an asset.
  • Experience in customer service or counter sales an asset.
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates.
  • Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience with or knowledge of HVAC/R and building products sold at the Profit Centre.
  • Ability to use the Internet as a resource to problem solve and find alternative solutions for customers.
  • Experience using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
