Position Overview: Recreation Therapist

We are currently seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to contribute to our comprehensive care approach. This role is ideal for those with a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy and a background in mental health support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish patient-focused objectives to achieve significant outcomes
  • Deliver tailored counseling and support services
  • Create customized therapeutic programs for clients
  • Lead psycho-educational group sessions
  • Encourage the development of leisure skills in a secure setting
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatment progress
  • Evaluate group readiness and engagement
  • Conduct assessments related to leisure functioning
  • Identify and promote community recreation resources
  • Effectively communicate assessment findings
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy
  • Experience in mental health and addiction services
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Registered or certified in Recreation Therapy
  • Familiarity with cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy techniques
  • Experience in mindfulness practices and yoga instruction
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
