Job Overview
The Senior Engineering Project Coordinator will oversee the engineering initiatives of significant projects in the fields of mechatronics and Electric Vehicle Integration. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful delivery of solutions while managing all engineering and prototyping facets of the project, including timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment with demanding deadlines. This position will be part of the Global Engineering Project Management Office (EPMO) within the Electrification division, which aims to provide unified guidance and improve project execution management practices, organizational governance, and strategic leadership for change.

Key Responsibilities

  1. PRIMARY DUTIES:
    1. Oversee design and development activities for electric motor and inverter projects.
    2. Develop and manage project timelines by directing, coordinating, and communicating with all functional teams involved, including customer teams, suppliers, and vehicle line platform teams.
    3. Ensure timely project launches that meet established deliverables.
    4. Adhere to ASPICE process requirements and maintain necessary documentation.
    5. Manage issue and change tracking while coordinating with all stakeholders.
    6. Provide project status updates to leadership regularly.
    7. Facilitate DFMEA, DVP, and coordinate with SDE/SQA for PPAP approvals.
    8. Lead the definition of the project charter, scope, and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
    9. Utilize various engineering project management methodologies to tailor project execution for different scopes and implementation strategies.
    10. Create and oversee R&D budgets related to development, ensuring financial targets are met.
    11. Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to keep them informed of project scope and milestones.
    12. Drive project completion, exercising sound judgment on when to escalate issues to management.
    13. Assist purchasing with supplier identification, technical discussions, and timeline assessments.
    14. Identify and mitigate issues/risks using established engineering and project management tools and techniques.
    15. Implement improvements to project management procedures and processes through continuous enhancement and lean initiatives.
    16. Lead product development efforts in alignment with Dana's Product Development Process (PDP).

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the automotive sector.
  2. At least 3 years of progressive experience in the design and development of electrification products.
  3. Familiarity with the automotive electrification industry.
  4. Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to navigate a matrixed environment effectively.
  5. Strong understanding of complex technical products.
  6. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  7. Strong listening and communication abilities.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
  9. Excellent analytical capabilities.
  10. Demonstrated proactive mindset and forward-thinking approach.
  11. Ability to collaborate effectively with other disciplines to achieve results.
  12. Proven track record of driving results.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master's Degree with over 5 years of progressive experience in mechatronics or electrification.
  2. Technical project management experience with successful completion of at least two medium to large-scale projects.
  3. Certification as a Project Management Professional or a degree in project management.
