Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced English Teacher to join our team at Kawenni:io/Gaweni:yo School. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering English lessons to grades 7/8 and Secondary students, and will work closely with the Principal and other teachers to ensure the highest standards of education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct English language lessons for students in grades 7/8 and Secondary
  • Develop and implement curriculum plans to meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent
  • Member of the College of Teachers
  • Knowledge of the Rotinonhision:ni/Hodinohson:ni culture and/or language is an asset
  • Current ESL Ontario Accredited Certification is an asset
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching English as a Second Language
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and implementation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
