About the Role

Groupe Dynamite Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Garment Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Technical Design and Fitting department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our garments.

Key Responsibilities

Fit and Quality Control (50%):

  1. Lead fit sessions and provide expert feedback to improve garment fit;
  2. Collaborate with the Design team to develop seasonal product lines;
  3. Establish and maintain high standards for fit and quality;
  4. Work closely with the Design team to ensure accurate fit and construction of garments;
  5. Conduct thorough quality control checks throughout the production process;
  6. Develop and maintain a library of pattern blocks to streamline the approval process.

Technical Design (20%):

  1. Develop initial spec packages, detailed sketches, and measurements for all styles;
  2. Issue technical packs with all necessary specifications for production;
  3. Maintain a comprehensive history of each style and ensure high standards of quality.

Sample Management and Factory Relations (30%):

  1. Measure and review fit samples to ensure accuracy;
  2. Work directly with factories to develop styles and resolve production issues;
  3. Communicate clearly with factories to ensure fit and construction requirements are met;
  4. Write detailed comments and provide digital feedback to resolve fit and workmanship issues;
  5. Present solutions to the Design team to resolve problems with yarn, fabric quality, or poorly made samples;
  6. Ensure factories execute fit comments and make necessary changes;
  7. Problem-solve fit and fabric issues as they arise;
  8. Coordinate approval of garments and specs;
  9. Maintain production deadlines and sample organization;
  10. Review each sample for quality and Groupe Dynamite standards.

Requirements

  1. 5+ years of experience in the apparel industry;
  2. Possess a degree in Fashion Design or a related field;
  3. Experience with fitting procedures, fitting corrections, and PAD pattern-making software knowledge required;
  4. Garment construction knowledge;
  5. Bilingual (French/English) with strong communication skills;
  6. Proficient in Illustrator, MS Office Suite, and Bamboo Rose software;
  7. Meticulous, detail-oriented;
  8. Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
  9. Strong time management and organizational skills.
