Job Description

About the Role

The Technical Product Owner is a key member of our team at 08763 Citi Canada Technology Services ULC, responsible for driving business value and delivering high-impact projects. As a mid-senior level position, this role requires strong leadership and technical skills to liaise between business users and technologists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Agile teams to deliver workstream objectives and drive requirement elicitation, analysis, and prioritization.
  • Own the team-level backlog, identifying business value, requirement breakdown, and priority, and collaborate with the Technology team on planning, implementation, testing, and production rollout.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex projects, ensuring essential procedures are followed, and contribute to the formulation of standards and strategies for the business.
  • Resolve issues that impact beyond the team and apply in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within the area and basic knowledge of other areas.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external parties to achieve objectives and negotiate effectively.
  • Operate with a limited level of direct supervision and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and team members.
  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience in a financial services firm in a role of Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Project Manager.
  • A working knowledge of various technologies, including Python, MongoDB, Java, Restful API, and cloud-based services, with hands-on experience working directly with development teams.
  • Prior business analysis experience in the domain of risk is preferred, as well as knowledge of counterparty credit risk/CVA.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and building and coaching Agile teams.
  • An Engineering, Finance, or Mathematics background is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with front office, quantitative stakeholders, and front office technology teams.
  • Proven ability to conduct research/analysis, organize findings, and build requirements documents.
  • Experience working with virtual teams is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience coordinating with technology teams.
  • An Educational Level of Bachelor's Degree is required, with a Master's degree preferred.
