About this Opportunity

The role of the Field Operator is to be responsible for the ongoing safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the terminal. This will include NGL operation, pipeline terminal operation, and pump stations. This person will collaborate with terminal personnel, midstream engineering staff, construction and service companies, and maintenance personnel.

This position is within our midstream operations group and is located in a terminal facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate notifications and follow up on work order completion with maintenance group to sustain operations.
  • Operate the facility in a safe and effective manner, while working collaboratively as part of the operating team.
  • Provide notifications to the area supervisor of operating cost impacts and if required support effective solutions to mitigate impacts.
  • Perform daily site inspections, complete area logs and records (e.g., volume balances, log sheets, work permits and hazard assessments).
  • Support operations performed maintenance activities, support maintenance contractors and vendors by communicating company requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Complete the applicable modules for the CAP-O program.
  • Ensure industry safety tickets are kept current.
  • Ensure appropriate operating procedures are reviewed and adhered to, complete reviews and provide feedback on procedures based on the assigned review cycle.
  • Participate in Emergency response training, continual fire training compliance.
  • Adhere to and promote company safety principles.
  • Obtain and maintain a rail operations certificate to support the rail operations at the terminal.
Requirements
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Secondary technical diploma or Journeyman certification in electrical, mechanical or Instrumentation are considered an asset.
  • Experience in operations of crude oil storage and blending facilities and all associated processes and systems.
  • Experience with operating Rail-Loading equipment.
  • Experience working with SAP.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
