Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Liability Claims Adjuster to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting our Auto and General Liability operations, requiring a solid understanding of both Auto Property Damage and Liability claims.
As a Liability Claims Adjuster, you will play a crucial role in the growth of our Canadian operations. You will manage a diverse range of claims, primarily focusing on Automobile and General Liability, while working with high-profile clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis, investigation, and evaluation of claims to determine coverage and appropriate resolution.
- Establish and maintain adequate reserves for indemnity and expenses, regularly reviewing them for accuracy.
- Identify and report on claim trends and policy issues to management and underwriting teams.
- Actively engage in the case-resolution process, participating in negotiations and mediations as required.
- Collaborate with brokers, risk managers, and reinsurers to support claims marketing initiatives.
- Facilitate claim reviews with clients to ensure transparency and satisfaction.
- Oversee claims managed by Independent Adjusters to uphold our quality standards.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant claims experience, particularly in auto and general liability.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designation or those pursuing it.
- Strong knowledge of claims handling practices, including coverage issues and product line expertise.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate analytical, decision-making, and negotiation abilities.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% within the region.
