Role Overview:
The successful candidate will oversee a variety of design and project management responsibilities within the bridges and infrastructure division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct or validate both preliminary and final designs for bridges and infrastructure;
- Detail structural components in reinforced concrete and steel;
- Utilize AutoCAD for overseeing plan development;
- Generate engineering reports, models, and presentations;
- Lead cost estimates and technical documentation for bridge projects;
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and inspectors during the construction phase;
- Develop project timelines and assess resource requirements;
- Ensure compliance of all documentation with current standards;
Required Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience in bridge and structural design;
- Experience in project management within the engineering domain is advantageous;
- A degree in engineering from an accredited institution is essential;
- Membership in the Quebec Order of Engineers is required;
- Membership in Professional Engineers Ontario is a plus;
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and structural materials;
- Ability to interpret construction documents and design standards applicable in Quebec;
- Extensive experience in bridge design and construction methodologies;
- Advanced knowledge in the design of structural elements in steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete;
- Capability to perform seismic analyses;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, ADA, and CSI Bridges is required;
- Knowledge of 3D modeling is necessary, with advanced skills preferred;
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with project stakeholders (engineers, technicians, clients);
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to plan and conceptualize;
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify issues;
- ASP Construction card is mandatory;
- Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required.
