This seasonal role provides the chance to work with a talented culinary staff dedicated to producing high-quality, healthy dishes for our guests. Key Responsibilities:Reporting to the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Sous Chef, your role as a Senior Cook will encompass the following:
- Understanding and executing all kitchen operational policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Collaborating with the Back of House management team to enhance guest offerings and elevate The Drake's reputation as a dining destination.
- Ensuring a unique and consistent dining experience by actively managing the kitchen team and addressing any issues that arise.
- Executing menu items from preparation to plating, ensuring timely delivery of main protein dishes.
- Utilizing seasonal ingredients while maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all products used.
- Continuously honing your skills and learning new techniques to enhance your culinary expertise.
- Working collaboratively with Back of House staff to maintain a cohesive kitchen environment.
- Ensuring cleanliness and organization of your station.
- Setting up, breaking down, and cleaning the kitchen before and after service.
- Adhering to company food safety and sanitation protocols.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of progressive kitchen experience in a fine or fast-paced casual dining environment.
- Demonstrated awareness of current culinary trends.
- Experience in a high-volume establishment with availability for evenings, weekends, and special events.
- Positive team player with a keen eye for detail.
- Genuine passion for food and a strong work ethic.
- Open to constructive feedback and adaptable, with a willingness to grow within the team.
- Ability to maintain patience and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong multitasking abilities and composure under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
