We are seeking a qualified Kindergarten Teacher to join our team at Liidlii Kue Elementary School. As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic growth of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of our students
- Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver curriculum
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure student success
- Must hold, or be eligible for, a Northwest Territories Professional Teaching Certificate
- Experience in Junior Kindergarten to Grade Six curricula
- Ability to work as a team member in planning, delivery, and assessment of programs and students
- Demonstrate a holistic, inter-disciplinary approach to teaching in an inclusive classroom
- Ability to work with students in multi-level situations
- Training and teaching experience in a cross-cultural, classroom situation
- Knowledge of and/or experience with the Northwest Territories integrated play-based Kindergarten Curriculum
- Knowledge of and/or experience with Daily 5, Differentiated Instruction, and Self Regulation
- Experience working with Indigenous students and communities
- Knowledge of the Northwest Territories education system and policies
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language
