DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilize the nursing process to deliver exceptional patient care. Collaborate as an integral member of both the Health Care Team and the Nursing Team. Uphold professional competence and standards relevant to contemporary nursing practice. Maintain accurate nursing documentation. Travel between various health care facilities may be necessary. Perform additional related responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma in Practical Nursing from an accredited community college;
- Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification;
- Updated nursing competencies including Aseptic Techniques and Patient Assessment training;
- Valid Certificate in Medication Administration;
- Experience in caring for patients with Nephrology conditions;
- Evidence of ongoing education pertinent to the role;
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and teaching abilities;
- Capacity to effectively prioritize tasks;
- Proven communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues;
- Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting, turning, and transferring patients both manually and with mechanical aids;
- Must have a satisfactory performance record;
- Commitment to core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork, and Joy;
- Understanding and commitment to comprehensive safety programs and practices, including participation in regular in-service education;
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment terms are governed by the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.
Successful external candidates must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector.
