Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials Technician to join our team at Intertek. As a key member of our laboratory and field support team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our clients in the Greater Vancouver Area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory and field materials testing on concrete, soil, and aggregate materials to ensure compliance with CCIL certification standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control and quality assurance procedures for materials testing and certification.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Laboratory Supervisor to ensure effective and efficient laboratory and field operations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal stakeholders on materials testing and certification procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service and support.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in materials testing and certification.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent technical experience.
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in soil, aggregate, geotechnical, and concrete materials testing.
  • Eligibility for CCIL Concrete Testing Category CCIL Type C and D Aggregate Certification and CCIL Concrete Category "0" and "1".
  • Familiarity with civil engineering construction QA/QC inspection and test standards and procedures to ASTM and CSA standards.
  • ASTTBC Membership preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Microsoft Office software knowledge.
