Currently, DOF Subsea Canada is in search of a meticulous and client-oriented professional for the role of Senior Engineer. Success in this position hinges on the ability to collaborate effectively with both offshore and onshore teams. The Senior Engineer will report directly to the Project Technical/Engineering Manager and will receive daily guidance on tasks including analyses, documentation reviews, tender submissions, and design activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Support DOF Subsea's primary business objectives and those of our clients, including Light Subsea Construction, Subsea Intervention, Decommissioning, Permanent Mooring Installation/Disconnection, Engineering Studies, and Tender submissions. This includes lift rigging design, lift planning, and installation analyses pertinent to the aforementioned initiatives;
  • Ensure the successful completion of assigned project phases within budgetary and time constraints, adhering to company policies;
  • Contribute to the regional initiative to devise innovative solutions for client challenges that align with our core business;
  • Assist in business development and tendering efforts as directed by management;
  • Proactively seek to develop safe, practical, cost-effective, and cutting-edge solutions to technical challenges faced in projects;
  • Foster the ongoing development of our Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) culture and systems to minimize risks to personnel, the environment, and equipment to ALARP levels (As Low As Reasonably Practical);
  • Uphold the company's organizational culture, values, and reputation with all stakeholders, including staff, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory bodies;
  • Encourage open communication between engineering and operations to cultivate a productive workplace culture;
  • Work diligently towards achieving Regional and Departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Execute all responsibilities in accordance with legal and ethical standards;
  • Offshore work will be a requirement;
  • Perform other engineering duties as assigned by third parties in the case of secondments.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Ocean & Naval Architecture, Structural, or equivalent);
  • Basic Survival Training (BST) is advantageous due to offshore work requirements;
  • Professional Engineering license;
  • 5-10 years of experience in subsea project/installation engineering;
  • Familiarity with procedural writing related to offshore ROV construction activities;
  • Experience supervising equipment System Integration Testing and functionality assessments;
  • Experience with project vessel mobilizations and demobilizations;
  • Offshore field experience in the installation and decommissioning of subsea infrastructure;
  • Knowledge of specialized software is beneficial (e.g., Ansys/Inventor for Structural/Mechanical Engineers, Orcaflex for Hydrodynamics-Subsea Engineers, etc.);
  • Understanding of the marine environment and the technical challenges involved in executing projects in these conditions;
  • Knowledge of subsea infrastructure components, deployment/recovery methodologies, equipment handling restrictions, and testing requirements;
  • Familiarity with DNV lifting and underwater deployment/recovery codes relevant to marine operations;
  • Analytical and technical skills specific to lowering analyses and rigging design are advantageous;
  • General technical knowledge of sea fastening design and analysis (vessel motions & structural design);
  • General awareness of industry and regulatory standards, best practices, and design codes;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills;
  • Willingness to undertake the necessary work to complete projects on time while meeting client expectations;
  • Willingness to share knowledge and mentor team members in critical skills/tasks;
  • Professional demeanor that consistently promotes company interests.
  • (Training programs may be available to compensate for lack of experience.)
