McCain Foods Florenceville Potato is seeking a dedicated and results-driven individual to join our sanitation team. This role involves a rotating schedule of 4 on and 4 off (12-hour shifts, both days and nights) and reports directly to the Shift Supervisor. The primary responsibility is to ensure the sanitation and cleanliness of our production facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete all TQC documentation and adhere to HACCP system procedures for the processing area.
- Follow all safety protocols established by McCain Foods during the orientation process.
- Adhere to all GMP principles as outlined by McCain Foods during orientation.
- Report directly to the Sanitation Team Lead and Shift Supervisor.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Lift items as required (up to 30 lbs. unassisted).
- Take on additional tasks as assigned.
- Receive training on chemical systems and allergy protocols.
- Actively engage in team meetings.
- Address daily operational challenges in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 or GED is required.
- Availability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Familiarity with computer operations, especially SAP, is advantageous.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to lift heavy items (up to 40 lbs unassisted).
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to cross-train in different areas such as Cutter Deck, Potato Receiving, and Batter.
- Ability to respond calmly and responsibly to unexpected situations.
- Openness to adapt to changes in daily operations.
- Successful completion of a 90-day training period is required.
Additional Information:
Applicants must demonstrate a strong safety record and consistently prioritize safety in the workplace. Promotions are based on various factors, including ability, training, experience, attendance, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service may be a determining factor when other qualifications are comparable. Testing may be necessary depending on the position. Interviews will be conducted as needed, and candidates will be selected based on their qualifications. An evaluation period will assess the candidate's fit for the role. Shift schedules may vary based on operational needs.
