About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Attendant to join our team at Canada's Best Value Inn. As a key member of our housekeeping staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our hotel rooms and public areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Housekeeping: Ensure that all hotel rooms, corridors, and public areas are clean and tidy, including sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing floors, dusting furniture, and vacuuming carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture.
  • Bed Making and Linen Management: Make beds and change sheets as needed, and ensure that linen closets are stocked and organized.
  • Lost and Found: Handle and report lost and found items to the front desk.
  • Guest Services: Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items, and provide general assistance as needed.
  • Trash and Recycling: Pick up debris and empty trash containers, and ensure that recycling is properly sorted and disposed of.
  • Light Housekeeping and Cleaning Duties: Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties as needed, including cleaning changing rooms and showers.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Settlement Support: Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, including housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.
  • Language and Cultural Support: Provide support and resources to help newcomers and refugees adjust to their new environment.
Support for Youths
  • Youth Support: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
Support for Indigenous People
  • Indigenous Support: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations to promote cultural understanding and support.
Support for Visible Minorities
  • Cross-Cultural Training: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.

Work Environment: This is a permanent, full-time position with 40 hours of work per week. The work language is English.
