Role Overview:

As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a vital role in the design and validation of automation tools and equipment essential for our production and quality assurance processes. Your expertise will contribute to the testing and calibration of electronic devices, ensuring they meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, fabricate, and validate production automation tools with a focus on calibration and testing, integrating embedded electronics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with the new product development team to enhance manufacturability and testing efficiency of innovative devices.
  • Analyze existing processes and propose solutions for manufacturing improvements.
  • Engage in weekly project meetings to support planning and progress tracking.
  • Develop comprehensive test procedures and checklists for manufacturing and testing equipment.
  • Ensure designs meet specifications through thorough validation and checklist completion.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation for product requirements and testing protocols.
  • Work alongside various departments to define product requirements and testing methodologies.
  • Customize products to ensure readiness for manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction through global sourcing and redesign initiatives, applying Value Added/Value Engineering (VA/VE) principles.
  • Support the integration of new products into production, including feasibility assessments and process development.
Qualifications:
  • A Technologist Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, fabrication, and validation.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design using 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
  • Strong skills in standard software applications, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires frequent walking, talking, and listening. Occasional standing, sitting, and manual dexterity are necessary, along with the ability to lift and move items up to 30 pounds. Specific vision capabilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The position is based in an office/laboratory setting, with opportunities for remote work and effective collaboration with virtual teams.
