Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hydrological evaluations, comprehensive water balance assessments, and infrastructure options analyses.
  • Lead or assist in surface water resource projects, including watershed management and environmental compliance.
  • Utilize and enhance technical skills in watershed analysis, hydrology, and hydraulic modeling to support project assessments.
  • Oversee quality assurance and manage sediment and erosion control for water management infrastructure.
  • Conduct field studies for flow measurement and water quality assessment.
  • Manage and analyze various surface water datasets.
  • Engage in watershed and hydraulic modeling to support design and assessments.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution is required; a postgraduate degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in surface water management projects.
  • Eligibility for registration as an Engineer with the relevant provincial professional organization.
  • Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic analysis.
  • Experience with water balance modeling, including the use of GoldSim software.
  • Familiarity with hydrology, hydraulics, database management, and GIS applications.
  • Experience in river engineering, fluvial geomorphology, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Background in the mining, infrastructure, or power sectors.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • A valid driver's license and effective time management abilities.
