POSITION SUMMARY
The role involves performing diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on engine products within a service facility, operating under limited supervision.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implements established procedures and protocols to execute intricate repairs, including the identification and preparation of necessary components and tools.
- Disassembles, examines, cleans, and reassembles engines and/or engine parts.
- Conducts preventive maintenance based on engine assessments.
- Supports senior technicians with diagnostics and the formulation of repair strategies in the workshop.
- Completes essential documentation, such as work completion records, time logs, warranty submissions, and quality assurance documents, either through handwritten forms or digital input systems.
- Engages in training aligned with skill enhancement and business needs.
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace and tools.
- Complies with all pertinent Health, Safety & Environmental regulations and promptly reports any issues or incidents to a supervisor.

- Understanding Engine Systems: Analyzes the interactions of electrical and mechanical systems (e.g., exhaust, heating, cooling) to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
- Product Repair and Maintenance: Executes repairs and maintenance on mechanical/electrical products following established guidelines, ensuring quality repairs within standard timeframes.
- Service Record Management: Creates and verifies customer and technical information; captures specific data using required service tools and documents necessary information in the service management system.
- Technical Issue Escalation: Gathers product technical issue information and utilizes available resources; escalates issues to higher expertise levels while documenting all troubleshooting steps.
- Valuing Diversity: Acknowledges the importance of diverse perspectives and cultures within the organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician.
- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
- Preferred: Valid local driving permit.
- This position may necessitate licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Intermediate knowledge and/or experience with engine products.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Cummins Inc. seeks a qualified Red Seal Truck & Transport technician with experience in trailer repairs.
- Candidates should be prepared to work a rotating on-call schedule to service key clients.
- Experience with Onan products is required.
- Cummins training will be provided to suitable candidates.
