About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team focused on revolutionizing the aluminum industry. You will play a crucial role in designing and developing cutting-edge equipment for our next-generation electrolysis plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of innovative electrolysis cell components and associated production equipment, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and safety standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and technicians to refine designs, optimize performance, and ensure seamless integration within the overall plant system.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical specifications for equipment fabrication, including detailed drawings, material selection criteria, and quality control protocols.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing installations and equipment through analysis, problem-solving, and implementation of innovative solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during prototype testing and risk analysis, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and project objectives.

About You

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Have 7-10 years of proven experience in mechanical design, with a strong preference for experience within the primary aluminum industry.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in industry-standard software such as Solidworks and AutoCAD.
  • Be a member in good standing of the Quebec Engineers Association.
  • Exhibit exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Be fluent in both French and English.
