Assurance Manager

BLANKSLATE Partners is seeking a highly skilled Assurance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our accounting and auditing team, you will be responsible for providing leadership in the preparation and completion of review and assurance engagements.
About the RoleThe Assurance Manager will report to the Partners and work collaboratively with a dedicated team of accounting and administrative professionals. Responsibilities- Provide leadership in the preparation and completion of review and assurance engagements.
- Oversee the preparation and/or review of working paper files and financial statements for compilation, review, and audit engagements, including applicable tax returns and other required compliance.
- Monitor client deadlines to ensure timely completion of engagements.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff members and review their work.
- Resolve assurance/accounting-related issues with clients.
- Assist in setting up assurance templates, where necessary.
- Stay current with all assurance changes and requirements.
- Working knowledge of CaseWare, CaseView, QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, Taxprep, and the Microsoft Office, together with other commonly used applications in an accounting environment.
- Working knowledge of IFRS reporting is an asset.
- 5 years of post-designation public practice experience in assurance.
- 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated progressive experience in public accounting.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; ability to think and communicate in a logical, concise fashion.
- Excel at meeting deadlines and prioritizing.
- Solid technical knowledge of the CPA Canada Handbook.
