Your Role

As a Facility Assistant III, you will be responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the facility and achievement of production targets. You will demonstrate exceptional customer service and provide leadership to other Facility Assistants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the movement of grain by loading/unloading shipments
  • Assist the Operations Manager in mentoring and educating Facility Assistants in grading, inventory management, and safety practices
  • Exercise competency in grading canola, wheat, oats, and barley
  • Binning and blending of all incoming grain
  • Perform exceptional customer service duties
  • Regular facility maintenance and housekeeping
  • Blending fertilizer
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in the operation of a grain elevator
  • Experience as a team lead/supervisor
  • Through knowledge and understanding of the grain industry, including grading factors and elevator equipment
  • Trained in Health & Safety procedures and a champion for a safe work environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work within an environment subject to dust and allergens
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Ability to lift heavy materials repeatedly (up to 50 lbs)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education preferably in agriculture or business
  • Aptitude for maintenance and repair of grain elevator equipment
