About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Operations Engineer to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facility's utilities, including boilers, refrigeration systems, and HVAC units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of facility utilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and resolve equipment issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal plant efficiency.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to operations teams, ensuring seamless execution of plant processes.
  • Conduct regular rounds to inspect equipment, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Interface with external contractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair work.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance plant efficiency, safety, and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, and quality teams.
Requirements:
  • 4th Class Stationary Engineer license or Refrigeration B and three to five years of experience in a shift/operating role.
  • Experience with freon refrigeration, an asset.
  • Ability to work 8 hours shifts, Monday-Friday days, with overtime required.
  • Preference given to applicants holding Refrigeration B Operator License.
