As a Senior Software Engineer, your role will involve crafting software and architectural designs that position Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) as the premier environment for enterprise-level containerized applications. You will contribute to the development of next-generation services that streamline the configuration and management of Windows workloads in the cloud for our clients and partners. Collaboration with various Amazon container technologies, including ECS, EKS, and Fargate, will be a key aspect of your work, as you design services capable of managing large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
This position demands a seasoned expert in the field, and we seek an engineer with substantial experience in containerization, various container platforms, and associated tools.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour primary duties will include:
- Collaborating closely with product management and clients to comprehensively understand business and user needs; consistently enhancing products to deliver software that users genuinely appreciate.
- Translating high-level use cases into specific technical implementation steps and determining optimal solutions for identified challenges.
- Overseeing the complete feature development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, maintenance, and support of software artifacts.
- Architecting, designing, prototyping, and executing projects from inception to completion with a focus on quality.
- Managing complex projects with broad scopes and ensuring full ownership of deliverables.
- Engaging with clients and technical teams to define and refine technical strategies.
- Staying abreast of current technological advancements to support rapidly evolving technology landscapes, actively seeking new technologies and collaborating with management and development teams to integrate them.
- Guiding and mentoring fellow team members.
About Our Team
Our team prioritizes a healthy work-life balance, striving to maintain equilibrium between personal and professional commitments.
This role includes on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every 1.5 months. We aim to minimize disruptions during off-hours by ensuring our systems are resilient. When issues arise, we collaborate to identify and resolve root causes to prevent recurrence.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of professional software development experience, excluding internships.
- 5+ years of programming experience in at least one software language.
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of both new and existing systems.
- Experience in mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- 5+ years of comprehensive software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Familiarity with Docker/Containerd.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Windows OS internals.
- Understanding of Windows Networking, Storage, Devices, Win32 API, HCS/Hyper-V API, and HNS API.
