Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Wound Care Specialist to join our team at ParaMed Home Health Care. As a Nurse Specialist in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence, you will play a critical role in providing evidence-based advanced wound, ostomy, and continence assessment, management, and care to patients in our community nursing setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct practice to patients requiring wound, ostomy, and continence assessment, care, and management.
  • Provide education to our nursing healthcare team, patients, and families on wound, ostomy, and continence care.
  • Provide consultation and clinical support to our nursing healthcare team, including recommendations for specialty products and nursing care.
  • Participate in wound, ostomy, and continence clinical leadership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Precept new nurses as required.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Nurses Specialized in Wound Ostomy & Continence Canada (NSWOC) or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a practicing Registered Nurse, ideally in a community setting and/or providing wound, ostomy, and continence care to patients.
  • Ability to perform BCLS to College of Nurses standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of wound care products and indications for use.
