About the RoleWe are a hyper-growth company dedicated to reducing society's reliance on fossil fuels by developing innovative clean fuel products. As a Chemical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing chemical processes for the manufacturing of our products.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop chemical processes for product manufacturing, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
- Conduct simulations and experiments to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
- Lead or support projects from concept to completion, including planning, cost estimation, scheduling, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct research to develop new products, improve existing processes, and innovate with new chemical technologies.
- Ensure all processes comply with safety regulations and environmental standards, implementing and monitoring safety protocols to protect workers, the community, and the environment.
- Identify, analyze, and solve technical problems in chemical processes, implementing solutions to improve production rates, reduce costs, and ensure consistent product quality.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to develop and implement quality control processes, ensuring products meet or exceed regulatory and industry standards.
- Monitor and manage waste treatment, pollution control, and resource conservation activities, ensuring environmentally responsible and sustainable operations.
- Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and standard operating procedures, maintaining accurate records of processes, experiments, and compliance activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree or additional certifications are considered an asset.
- 2-5 years of experience in a chemical engineering role within an industrial or manufacturing environment; experience in a specific industry (e.g., petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, food processing) is advantageous.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario or eligibility to obtain it is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, ChemCAD), strong understanding of chemical process equipment, and familiarity with process control systems.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical engineering principles, safety regulations (e.g., WHMIS), environmental standards, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong project management skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task, and exceptional ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to use spreadsheet software, create and calculate formulas, and make and interpret various graphs and charts.
- $81,000.00-$90,000.00 per year.
- Full-time role with ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Periodic overtime as required.
- Casual dress, company events, dental care, employee assistance program, extended health care, paid time off.
- Fluency in English is required; fluency in French is considered an asset.
