Position: Telecommunications Systems Technician

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for qualified candidates with a strong background in the design and engineering of telecommunications systems, particularly in structured cabling, IP networking, outdoor connectivity, and fiber optic technologies. Reporting to the Telecommunications Engineering Director, your role will encompass:

  • Overseeing project execution and liaising with clients and stakeholders;
  • Conducting research, design, analysis, and recommending effective technical solutions;
  • Engaging in project planning, design, and comprehensive engineering tasks;
  • Performing technical assessments and surveys;
  • Assisting in the development of technical documentation, specifications, and plans;
  • Identifying and resolving technical challenges;
  • Participating in project evaluation meetings;
  • Collaborating with various technical teams;
  • Providing expert technical assistance to clients;
  • Demonstrating the ability to operate within a structured and organized framework: adhering to standards and regulations.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in one of the following areas:
    • Structured cabling systems;
    • Optical fiber and outdoor network installations;
    • Fiber to the Home (FTTH) solutions;
    • Electrical power distribution (preferred);
    • Design of telecommunications facilities (preferred).
  • Familiarity with telecommunications industry standards, cable distribution, and Hydro-Québec regulations is advantageous;
  • Excellent technical writing capabilities;
  • Willingness to travel across the province;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • ASP Construction Certification - General Health & Safety on Construction Sites;
  • Proficient in basic computer applications - Microsoft Office, Visio, AUTOCAD.
