About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Aecon, a leading Canadian infrastructure development company. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing electrical systems for our renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for substation, transmission, and distribution projects
  • Prepare and review conceptual and detailed engineering designs
  • Perform protective relay calculations, fault studies, and coordination
  • Provide technical guidance to field staff and construction crews
  • Lead projects from conception through construction and commissioning
  • Develop and manage project documentation and schedules
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer designation with Professional Engineers Ontario or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in substation, utility interconnect, transmission, and distribution design or consulting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop design calculations, construction drawings, and specifications
  • Good knowledge of North American codes and standards
  • Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, and other design software
