We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Soma Interiors Ltd. as a Drywall Finisher and Installer. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in various commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate with other workers to ensure efficient project completion.
- Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation.
- Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
- Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
- Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
- Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets.
- Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim.
- Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
- Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
- Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets.
- Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
- Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages.
- Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.
- Work in a fast-paced commercial, industrial, and residential construction environment.

- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
