Key Responsibilities
As the Procurement Manager, reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, you will spearhead the implementation of procurement strategies aimed at maximizing efficiency and cost savings. Your role will encompass:
- Developing annual purchasing programs and guidelines.
- Leading and mentoring the procurement team.
- Utilizing negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and conditions.
Leadership and Management
You will oversee the purchasing department's operations, assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members. Your leadership will include:
- Conducting performance reviews and providing training to enhance team capabilities.
- Establishing metrics to evaluate and improve departmental performance.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.
Procurement Management
Your responsibilities will also include managing all procurement activities, which involve:
- Developing and executing purchasing strategies.
- Monitoring supplier performance through KPIs to ensure quality and service standards.
- Negotiating advantageous pricing and terms with suppliers.
Supply Chain Efficiency
You will support the optimization of supply chain operations, ensuring efficient product movement from vendors to our branches. This includes:
- Implementing best practices in supply chain processes.
- Analyzing and negotiating transportation costs for efficiency.
- Collaborating with management to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Inventory Oversight
In this role, you will also manage inventory levels and performance metrics, focusing on:
- Preparing reports on inventory status and turnover rates.
- Negotiating with suppliers regarding returns and exchanges.
- Developing strategies for managing obsolete inventory.
Product Data Management
You will evaluate vendor products and maintain product data integrity, ensuring alignment with market conditions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Post Secondary Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain operations and management.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Experience in the electrical distribution industry.
