We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Operations Supervisor to lead our Kootenay region team. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the safety of your team and the integrity of our assets and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of unionized employees to meet daily requirements, commitments, and projects as required.
- Familiarize yourself with software and applications used to schedule and complete deliverables on time and within budget.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels in collaboration with internal resources.
- Manage contracted services in accordance with established terms and conditions.
- Participate in the recruitment process, interview, and select new employees to the team.
- Coach, mentor, and support your team to support performance, quality of work, and ongoing training and development of staff.
- Utilize your field experience and technical knowledge to solve work-related problems and/or collaborate and refer to others.
- Travel to work sites to provide quality oversight and maintain compliance with work and industry standards, applicable metrics, and service level agreements.
- Maintain an inclusive, safe, and healthy workplace for your team and others.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following procedures and practices, including site safe work planning, providing safety information and supplies, participating in incident investigations, and utilizing personal protective equipment.
- Utilize your financial knowledge and provide oversight of the management of budgets, third-party contracts, and internal service agreements.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, contractors, builders, municipal agencies, emergency response, and environmental management personnel.
- Champion our safety culture to safeguard against accidents and injuries.
- Partner with peers and internal stakeholders in developing strategic initiatives to drive operational excellence.
- Five years of management experience with a focus on natural gas infrastructure. Post-secondary diploma considered an asset.
- Previous experience in construction, underground utilities, and emergency response is an asset.
- A passion for developing quality solutions with a safety-focused mindset.
- A collaborative and inclusive approach to strengthening connections in the workplace.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, such as Word, Excel, etc.
