The Government of Saskatchewan is committed to promoting the welfare and safety of children and families within our communities. We are currently looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Youth Welfare Specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of potential neglect and abuse cases, while evaluating family dynamics
- Develop and implement support strategies and intervention plans for families in need
- Oversee the care requirements of children in protective custody, including planning for placements and treatment
- Establish transparent and trusting relationships with clients, their families, and interdisciplinary professionals
- Evaluate and prioritize incoming referrals, create intervention strategies, and maintain accurate records
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Indigenous Social Work is required
- Understanding of diverse cultural perspectives, economic challenges, and social issues
- Willingness to work flexible hours, travel, and provide transportation for children when necessary
