Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior UI Developer to join our Technology and Operations team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a UI Developer, you will play a critical role in designing and building innovative solutions for our commercial banking customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop user interfaces for web applications using Angular and other modern web technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Work on a specific project critical to RBC's needs with opportunities to switch projects as the business grows and evolves.
  • Develop and maintain UIs and all supporting code, including design and build Backbase Widgets.
  • Utilize technologies like Node, Angular, NX, CSS, Jest, Playwright / Cypress, NestJS.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, designing highly scalable and extensible products.
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment while engaging in best practices at all times.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience with Angular (preferably v16+).
  • Experience with State Management libraries such as NGRX, Redux, NGXS and know why they are a pain.
  • Experience with modern Web UI testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma, Jest, and Playwright.
  • Employ agile development practices including test and deployment automation.
  • Experience in developing accessible web applications with manual and automated testing.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience building software for the financial services industry – banking, insurance or investments.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery using Jenkins to improve overall execution speed and product quality.
  • Experience building / supporting Angular Component Libraries.
  • Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
