At Radio Canada International, we are dedicated to creating content that informs, entertains, and connects audiences across various platforms.

The Software and Platform Architecture Team is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Technology Solutions Architect with extensive expertise in both Software Architecture and Engineering Practices.

Reporting to the Director of Software and Platform Architecture, your primary responsibility will be to establish, lead, and contribute to the Software Architecture and Engineering practices.

This role involves collaboration with a team of architects focused on best practices and delivering actionable architecture for internal development teams.

A significant aspect of this position is related to research and development aimed at achieving tangible business outcomes through enhanced efficiency and automation.

As part of the Architecture and Strategic Development Department, you will have the opportunity to influence the onboarding of new Development Tools and Technologies while defining and implementing Platform Architectures.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in the development and execution of Cloud strategies that promote technological advancement and cost-effectiveness.
  • Defining Cloud Governance and Architectural guidelines for our software and platforms.
  • Establishing common software engineering technology stacks and toolchains.
  • Creating proof of concept prototypes to outline high-level and detailed architectural solutions and assisting in their implementation.
  • Evaluating new technologies and methodologies in a fast-paced agile delivery environment.

You will also:

  • Guide and mentor DevOps specialists, Application Solution Architects, and Developers, including reviewing solution architecture for both on-premises and cloud solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership to junior developers on complex coding and design issues.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our application architecture.
  • Integrate 'Secure by Design' principles into the software development lifecycle.
  • Promote and support the adoption of Infrastructure as Code practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in application development and coding with progressively senior roles.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in application architecture/design.
  • Proven knowledge of software architecture design patterns and their application.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience with Cloud (Azure, AWS, Google) hosted deployments supporting Continuous Integration and Delivery for Application Development.
  • Strong experience in provisioning, operating, and managing Azure and AWS environments (Certification is a significant asset).
  • Proficient in programming or scripting languages such as .Net, Python, Powershell, PowerCLI, Javascript, and Terraform.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operating systems and system administration, including Linux, UNIX, and Windows systems.
  • In-depth understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure configurations, network protocols, security, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment (SCRUM certification is an asset).
  • Ability to stay updated with the latest technologies, trends, and development methodologies.
  • Creative and innovative mindset.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
  • Bilingualism in English and French.
