About the Role

S3 Group Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and reconcile Balance Sheets accounts monthly for the group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial information for management review, providing timely and accurate financial insights to inform business decisions.
  • Government Reporting: Prepare government reporting and remittances (GST, PST, Receiver General), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Record Bank Reconciliations: Perform record bank reconciliations for multiple divisions, assisting S3 Group divisions in more complex transaction recording.
  • Fixed Asset Ledger Management: Maintain the fixed asset ledger and reconcile to general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Divisional Statements: Assist with the preparation of divisional statements and month-end consolidated financial statements.
  • Audit Support: Assist the Corporate Controller with the audit of internal controls in all S3 business units.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, including forecasts and analysis, to ensure the company's financial stability.
  • Complex Financial Transactions: Complete complex financial accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Back-up Support: Provide back-up support to the Corporate Controller, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Finance Department Leadership: Participate actively in finance department leadership, contributing to the development of financial strategies and initiatives.
  • Interim Financial Statements: Prepare and analyze interim financial statements, including daily and weekly financial metrics.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Greater than 3 years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial accounting or audit role.
  • Skills: Impeccable analytical and organizational skills, ability to work autonomously, self-motivated and self-directed, ability to ask critical questions, verify data, follow instructions, and employ business reasonable judgment.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with accounting software, MRP or ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including higher level skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • CPA Program: Enrollment in the CPA program considered an asset.
Reporting Relationships
  • Reports directly to the Corporate Controller.
Inter-Relationships
  • Must work closely with all departments and levels of management.
